I think its because the EEG electrodes track the alpha and beta signals that are involved with movements. I think that in theory with mental practice it would be possible to have it lift without actually moving your arms.

You people have to realise that this isn’t meant for full-on gaming or anything. For the time being, it’s basically just used for simple tasks like controlling a mouse on your computer. Not sniping some guy 500 feet away while he’s running.

Yea, but it would probably have something to do with consentration, and tecnique, im not so sure if it has to do something to do with the demo, and don’t forget, this video was posted March 10, 2007, many things have improved. Emotiv is also going to give you other softwares, not only a headset and a game.
