How does video games, television, and computers affect your brain?

February 28, 2009 – 9:47 am

i am doing a little project on brains for my class, and i was wondering if video games, t.v, and computer shrink your brain…….
and please give me some advice on how to calm or soothe the brain

Video games definatly do not shrink the brain!!

Think about it. When you play video games you are challenging yourself with cordination problem solving. Your brain is learning and being stimulated.

However, once someone is accustomed to playing video games, their brain becomes extreamly attracted to them. Playing a video game stimulates the brain constantly and when a person stops playing video games, the brain goes through a point of withdrawl, meaning the loss of stimulation.

Playing video games is healthy for a growing brain, but just keep it in cheak and dont get to the point where you need them …

  4. They do not shrink the brain - but EMF above a certain field strength will damage your brain. That is especially true for the old CRTs, monitors and TV tubes. Basically - all EMF which is too strong - regardless what source - will damage the brain cells. Just whatch this generation in a few years and what the percentages of brain tumors and cancers are due to cell phone uses etc! You will be unpleasantly surprised.

How to calm or soothe the brain? Stay away from all that if you can. I have thrown out the TV over 25 years ago and never watched it since… never play(ed) video games either. I never had and will never have a cell phone.

The other problem is mental and psychological…… that’s where addictions come into play. So - if one wants to be an independent creative thinker……. one should not become a brainwashed moron.

  5. What i think about these is that when small children play it or watch it then it will be for there fun there is no relation to their brain. But on the other hand when adult play it or watch it it will increase the power of there thinking and brain gets more activation.
